Artifact: Web 2.0 Presentation
LI843 teaches the basic principles, processes, and technologies of website design and construction. The course covered maintenance for libraries, covers practical issues of web mastering, web technologies and web design tools, and examines the issues of web usability, accessibility, and web standard compliance. We learned the concepts of XHTML programming, Cascading Style Sheets, JavaScript, and other Web design tools. The theories studied in this course include Web functionality, usability, and validity. In this artifact, a web based presentation about the online tool Google Sites, I used this tool to produce a website explaining the benefits and limitations of using Google Sites to present information on the web, and explained the process used to create a site using this tool. This assignment provided a chance to demonstrate the use of web-based technologies in presenting information on the internet and teaching others about Web 2.0 tools. In creating this online presentation I was able to demonstrate an understanding of the basic processes, skills, and strategies for web design, demonstrate an understanding of web usability and accessibility, and the knowledge of web-based presentation tools and techniques.
